Description
Sun protection film for maximum heat reduction
The sun control film 220 K Xtra for synthetic glass is self-adhesive and is installed on the exterior side of plastic glazings. It transforms plastic and double-wall panels into heat-reduced and less glare-prone surfaces. How does it do this? By rejecting 81% of solar energy, reducing glare by 82%, and providing 99% UV block. Thanks to its particularly scratch-resistant coating, this self-adhesive high-performance film is ideally suited for exterior use. It protects hard plastic glazing from weather damage, ensuring a long service life. With a mirror effect from the outside and silver-gray tinting of the glazing with sufficiently high daylight transmission.
Specially developed for use on plastic glazings
This sun control film was specially developed for plastic glazing with a smooth surface. It is ideal for use on double-wall panels, polycarbonate (PC), makrolon, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), plexiglas, acrylic glass, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS), and perspex. Even after several years of use, it can be removed cleanly without damaging the substrate. Areas of application include bus stops, pedestrian walkways, shelters, facade panels, and roof glazing.
Tip: For slightly wavy plastic panels or plastic panels with slight grooves, squeeze out the water particularly carefully, as otherwise bubbles may form along the grooves.
Not suitable for panels with scratch protection on both sides
The heat protection film is not suitable for Lexan Margard sheets with scratch protection coating on both sides, such as MR5/MR5 E and FMR5XT. With scratch protection coating on one side, such as the HLG5 and FLG5XT models, installation on the back is possible. Likewise, use on heavily corrugated panels is not recommended.

Long service life and manufacturer’s warranty
The sun control film has a service life of 10 years when used outdoors on vertical plastic surfaces (under normal Central European climate conditions). When installed on sloped glazing outdoors, the durability is reduced accordingly due to the higher environmental impact.
Regardless of the long durability, a manufacturer’s warranty of 4 years is provided for coated vertical surfaces and 3 years for coated sloped plastic surfaces. The warranty covers peeling, yellowing, and demetallization of the high-performance film if the film edges are sealed with silicone all around.
Installation of the the protective film in a few steps
The protective film is installed bubble-free using the wet installation method. Clean the surface to be covered thoroughly and spray with installation fluid. Peel off the protective film on the back, spray the adhesive side and apply to the plastic surface. Smooth everything out with a squeegee from the center, ensuring there are no bubbles, and wipe dry. Any white discoloration of the adhesive will disappear within a few days.

Instructions: Ordering linear meters, cuttings & rolls
In just a few clicks you can decide whether you want to order linear meters, millimeter cuttings or whole rolls!
Shopping linear meters from the roll
Example: The film is available as linear meter from the roll in roll widths of 0.91 m, 1.22 m and 1.52 m. You need 2.50 linear meters from a 1.22 m wide film roll.
Step 1: Select the roll width “1.22 m” at “LINEAR METERS”.
Step 2: Enter “2.50” in the field left next to “Add to cart”.
Finally: Click on “Add to cart”. Done.
You buy 2.50 linear film meters in one piece with a width of 1.22 meters. Linear meters are cut individually from a roll and delivered as a short roll in one piece. You are billed for the linear meters ordered.
Ordering millimeter cuttingss
Please take the width and height of your window measured from rubber to rubber, minus 4 mm of leeway all around. Example: You have 2 windows sized 1.40 m wide and 2.00 m high. The correct cutting size then is 139,6 cm width x 199,6 cm height.
Step 1: Enter “139,6” at width and “199,6” at height at “CUTTINGS”.
Step 2: Enter “2” at “Add to cart”.
Finally: Click on “Add to cart”. Done.
You then buy 2 pieces of film cuttings with the desired size of 139,6 width and 199,6 cm height. The ordered film and € 5.00 for the cutting are billed.
Have whole film rolls delivered
Rolled goods (25, 31 or 50 linear meters in one piece depending on the film model) are whole film rolls. If you purchase whole rolls, you benefit from attractive volume discounts. To do this, please enter the desired numbers of roll pieces at WHOLE ROLLS. You also can send us an email to service@vonkuester.de. We will then send you an offer that you can then order. Cutting whole rolls to a specific roll width is also possible on request, please contact us.
Free film sample
If you wish we send you free film samples by post. This way you can easily test different window films before ordering. The sample is the size of an envelope (approx. 10 x 20 cm).
