Description

Clear splinter protection film for plastic glazing

The splinter protection film SAF 400 Xtra for synthetic glass is self-adhesive and gives plastic glazings splinter-resistant and impact-resistant properties. The high-performance film provides effective protection against injuries caused by flying synthetic glass splinters when plastic panels break under violent impact. The film thickness meets the requirements of EU standard EN 12600:2000, resistance class 2B2. Due to its particularly scratch-resistant coating, the safety film is ideal for outdoor use on double-web sheets. It has a very long service life and provides lasting protection for hard plastic glazing against weather damage.

Even after several years of use, the special adhesive allows for clean removal without damaging the substrate. The film can be cleaned with conventional glass cleaning agents.

Meets the challenges of synthetic glass

✔ This safety film was specially developed for smooth synthetic glass and plastic panels. It is ideal for use on double-wall panels, acrylic glass, plexiglas, perspex, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS), and polycarbonate (PC). Areas of application include bus stops, pedestrian walkways, shelters, facade panels, and roof glazing.

✔ The shatter protection film is not suitable for Lexan Margard sheets with scratch protection coating on both sides, such as MR5/MR5 E and FMR5XT. With scratch protection coating on one side, such as on the HLG5 and FLG5XT models, installation on the rear side is possible. Likewise, use on heavily corrugated sheets is not recommended.

Installation of the safety film in a few steps

The safety film is applied bubble-free using the wet adhesive method. Thoroughly clean the surface to be covered and spray it with a installation fluid. Peel off the protective film on the back, spray the adhesive side and apply it to the window. Use a squeegee to smooth everything out from the center without creating bubbles and wipe dry. Any white discoloration of the adhesive will disappear within a few days.

Tip: Some double-wall panels are slightly wavy or have a surface with grooves that are arranged parallel to each other at a distance of approx. 1.0 cm. These plastic glazing panels can also be coated with the self-adhesive splinter protection if the grooves are not too deep. However, it is important to smooth the surface particularly carefully to ensure that any water in the grooves is removed. This prevents bubbles from forming along the grooves.

Instructions: Ordering linear meters, cuttings & rolls

In just a few clicks you can decide whether you want to order linear meters, millimeter cuttings or whole rolls!

Shopping linear meters from the roll

Example: The film is available as linear meter from the roll in roll widths of 0.91 m, 1.22 m and 1.52 m. You need 2.50 linear meters from a 1.22 m wide film roll.

Step 1: Select the roll width “1.22 m” at “LINEAR METERS”.

Step 2: Enter “2.50” in the field left next to “Add to cart”.

Finally: Click on “Add to cart”. Done.

You buy 2.50 linear film meters in one piece with a width of 1.22 meters. Linear meters are cut individually from a roll and delivered as a short roll in one piece. You are billed for the linear meters ordered.

Ordering millimeter cuttingss

Please take the width and height of your window measured from rubber to rubber, minus 4 mm of leeway all around. Example: You have 2 windows sized 1.40 m wide and 2.00 m high. The correct cutting size then is 139,6 cm width x 199,6 cm height.

Step 1: Enter “139,6” at width and “199,6” at height at “CUTTINGS”.

Step 2: Enter “2” at “Add to cart”.

Finally: Click on “Add to cart”. Done.

You then buy 2 pieces of film cuttings with the desired size of 139,6 width and 199,6 cm height. The ordered film and € 5.00 for the cutting are billed.

Have whole film rolls delivered

Rolled goods (25, 31 or 50 linear meters in one piece depending on the film model) are whole film rolls. If you purchase whole rolls, you benefit from attractive volume discounts. To do this, please enter the desired numbers of roll pieces at WHOLE ROLLS. You also can send us an email to service@vonkuester.de. We will then send you an offer that you can then order. Cutting whole rolls to a specific roll width is also possible on request, please contact us.

Free film sample

If you wish we send you free film samples by post. This way you can easily test different window films before ordering. The sample is the size of an envelope (approx. 10 x 20 cm).
